Remote Sensing Technology for optimal use of Natural Resources
This course offers an opportunity to learn the concepts of core Remote Sensing Technology, Satellite Image Interpretation, Digital Image Processing & Pattern Recognition, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) theory and practical, and Applications of Remote Sensing for Natural Resources Mapping, Management and Monitoring including 3-weeks hands-on on Thematic Analysis in your area of Specialization. In Labs you will pickup Satellite Image Interpretation, hands-on skills on various Image Processing and GIS softwares.

Why this Course?
This course is for Scientists/Engineers/Analysts/Researchers who are looking for just one resource center for Remote Sensing Technology and Its Applications including GIS to equip them in the areas of Remote Sensing & Its Applications, Image Processing & Pattern Recognition and GIS. You will understand the concepts of Remote Sensing Technology, Satellite Orbits, Multispectral Sensors-its working principles, Image understanding, Interpretation of Satellite Images followed by field verification. You will also have an opportunity to see real time satellite data acquisition at Earth Station Shadnagar, Hyderabad.
In the beginning of the training you will be preparing Land Use / Land Cover Thematic Maps using Satellite Image and verify through field visits. Trainer lead discussions would follow to validate interpreted results. This course would also cover the theoretical aspects of Image Processing/Pattern Recognition & GIS, and give a complete hands-on experience on the state- of-the-art Image Analysis and GIS Softwares.
You will be exposed to Applications of Remote Sensing in various disciplines like Geosciences, Hydrology and Water Resources, Oceanography & Marine Resource Land Use, Soils, Forestry, Agriculture and Soils . You will also have a two- days in-depth interaction in your area of specialization.
There would be a 3-weeks hands-on module in Thematic Analysis in your area of specialization (in one of the above mentioned disciplines).
